The Story of a Pirate

Hi, I am Justin.  I am a resourceful freelance designer and entrepreneur. From the moment I was shipwrecked into this world, God blessed me with a talent for art. I began drawing almost as soon as I could hold a pencil. I cultivated my artistic skills in drawing with pencils and inks. In high school I developed a passion for fashion design, learning everything I could about fashion design and the fashion industry, worked at a fabrics store, and set the stage for getting my degree in apparel design.

Well, not enough treasure hauls, money ran out, I left college and went to work in production, spending almost a decade as a machine operator in various industries. Fast forward to my late 20's and I found my way into graphic design within the print industry. There, I increased my skills as a graphic designer, specializing in logo design and branding and print design. I learned everything I could about the print industry, paper and other media, color management, prepress, process improvement, and operations. I explored and increased my abilities everywhere I could, which comes easy since I have a thirst for knowledge and learning.

By mid 30's I found myself in the screen print industry; learning all I could about screen print, the presses, art separations, prepress, DTG and sublimation, embroidery, and digital graphics. My experience in digital graphics built skills with heat transfers, decals, signage, wall and window graphics, vehicle wraps, and more. I trained in wrapping vehicles through Elite Wrappers and Tate Design, a legend and guru in the wrap world.

Throughout my life I have amassed a great deal of skills and experience in a wide variety of areas. I have freelanced on many different projects, helped co-manage a local band (of course I did all their art for merch, album, video, and photography), helped put together multiple events, built several brands and startups, did several pop up shops selling my own merch, built multiple Shopify stores, dabbled in motion graphics, dabbled with 3D and Blender, built my skills in web design and UI/UX design, learned a lot about programming (currently in a full stack developer boot camp), learned a lot about business and marketing, dabbled in photography and video, and at least 10 other things but no need mention everything.

I have deepened my love for art and found a new love for being an entrepreneur. I aim to continue that trajectory. From more freelance and design projects, to beginning my journey into full stack developing, to wrapping everything I can wrap. And of course, forever increasing my skills in every area I can.

I have a slight obsession with all things pirate. Somewhere in my late teens this began to grow, probably in part for my deep love for history, antiques, treasure hunting, and of course... treasure.

I love playing golf, which comes as a surprise to most. I am a fan of quite a few sports actually, like college football (ROLL TIDE), Soccer, Martial arts and MMA, I enjoy Tennis, playing pool (billiards), and drag racing.

I'm an ordained Minister, primarily to officiate and legally wed my best friends

I absolutely love the outdoors, the beauty of nature, traveling and sight-seeing, exploring, hiking, caving, and most water related activities.
